Getting Started
ProvisionRX is an independent patient advocacy service that manages manufacturer prescription assistance program enrollment on behalf of qualifying patients. We handle application preparation, physician coordination, submission, status monitoring, refill management, and annual reauthorization.
Complete the online application at /apply. It takes about 15 minutes. You will provide information about your medication needs, contact details, and basic eligibility information. We review your application and begin the enrollment process within 1 business day.
You should have an active prescription or be actively working with a physician who can prescribe the medication. The manufacturer programs require a valid prescription as part of the application. If you have a prescription from a recent visit but haven't filled it yet, that is acceptable.
We support 500+ medications with active manufacturer assistance programs. This includes specialty biologics, brand-name medications for autoimmune conditions, oncology, cardiology, diabetes, neurology, and more. You can browse our medication database at /medications. If your medication is not listed, contact us — we may still be able to help.
Eligibility
Eligibility is determined by the manufacturer, not by us. Most programs help patients below 200–400% of the Federal Poverty Level who lack adequate insurance coverage. For 2024, this is roughly up to $60,240 for a single person and $124,800 for a family of four for programs at 400% FPL. Thresholds vary significantly by medication and manufacturer.
Yes, in many cases. Some programs accept insured patients if their out-of-pocket costs are still substantial — for example, high-deductible plans, plans with high specialty tier cost-sharing, or Medicare Part D beneficiaries. Full insurance coverage with low cost-sharing typically disqualifies patients from most programs.
Manufacturer programs typically require recent tax returns or pay stubs to verify income. Some programs accept self-certification for certain income ranges. We guide you through exactly what documentation is needed for your specific programs and help you prepare it correctly.
Yes. Prior denials can often be revisited, especially if the denial resulted from incomplete documentation, application errors, or administrative issues rather than true ineligibility. We review your situation and assess whether a new application or an appeal is the appropriate path.
The Process
The manufacturer review period is typically 4–8 weeks from the date of a complete application. ProvisionRX submits your application within 3–5 business days of your enrollment. Total timeline from your application to medication receipt is usually 6–10 weeks for standard cases.
We review the denial reason and assess available options. Many denials can be appealed or resubmitted with additional documentation. If a program is not a fit, we identify alternative programs or savings card options that may provide interim assistance.
Delivery method varies by manufacturer. Some programs ship directly to your home. Others deliver to your physician's office for dispensing. We coordinate the specific logistics based on your program and communicate the arrangement clearly.
We manage your refill schedule. You will be notified in advance of upcoming refills and we will coordinate the reorder process. You do not need to track this yourself.
